Description:

This pistol is one of only 1,000 or less Model 1826 pistols manufactured by W.L. Evans of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, c. 1830-31. They are very similar to the Simeon North Model 1826 pistols manufactured c. 1826-1829. It has blade and "dished" sights, standard proof and view markings, "US/W.L. EVANS" at the center of the lock and "1830" at the tail, a swivel mounted ramrod, and a belt hook.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The iron has a mix of gray and brown patina, some minor pitting and oxidation, a redrilled vent, and scattered marks and scratches. The lightly sanded and re-oiled stock has smooth finish, numerous scrapes and small dents, a crack at the rear lock screw on the left, and some small slivers absent at the edges. Mechanically fine.
