The lock is marked "RICHMOND/1815" on the tail and has "VIRGINIA/Manufactory" at the center. The pan and some of the small components have small numbers or "x" marks. This lock would have been on a 2nd Model musket and would be an excellent way to restore one to flintlock without using modern replacement parts.

Fine with mottled brown patina and pitting. The markings are legible. Given the low survival rate, this is an exceptional example of a 1815 dated Virginia Manufactory flintlock musket lock.
