Description:

The accompanying copy of the factory letter lists this rifle with a no. 2 (marked on bottom) part octagon barrel in .32-40, plain trigger and graduated peep and wind gauge sights when it was received in the warehouse on August 2, 1892 and shipped the next day. The no. 2 barrel is marked with the two-line address and "32-40." Fitted with windage adjustable globe front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight and Vernier tang sight. The lower tang is marked with the patent date and serial number.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 90% original blue finish showing some scuffing thinning to brown on right side areas of light pitting in this area. The remaining metal surfaces retain 70% original case colors. The wood is also very fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
