This derringer is one of just 6,000 First Models manufactured between 1865 and 1870 and features punch dot and scroll engraving patterns along with arrows and bursts designs. The top of the barrel has the one-line address. The underside of the barrel has the 1863 patent date. This same model was later produced by Colt when the company bought out National Arms.

Very good with gray patina barrel with light pitting overall, 40% original gold plating on the frame, aged patina on the exposed brass, crisp engraving, and minor marks. Mechanically fine.
