Description:

The lock is marked "MULLIGAN" at center which may be for Irish gunmaker Roger Mulligan of Dublin around 1719-1727. The barrel has period spurious London proofs after an unclear maker's marks as well as engraving at the breech section and a 1 1/2 inch muzzle opening (gauge estimated). The brass furniture has some simple floral patterns. The Irish registration mark "M K 3165" is on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Good with light aged patina on the brass, dark patina and mild pitting on the lock, scattered minor scratches and marks, and the tail of the lock proud of the stock. The stock is also good with smooth oiled finish, minor edge wear, and some light scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
