Description:

This piece was probably made by John or James Wilson in the mid-1800s. The bore flares out to 1 1/2 inches at the muzzle and is approximately 12 gauge. The top of the barrel has "Dublin" in script along with scroll engraving and a "CW-2061" Carlow registration mark. The lock has scrollwork and is signed "Wilson" in script. The furniture is scroll engraved brass.

Rating Definition:

Good with mostly gray and brown patina on the barrel and lock, aged patina on the brass, repair in the wrist above the lock, otherwise mostly crisp checkering, distinct main markings, and mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
