Description:

Manufactured in Birmingham in the 1860s, using the patent behind (and copying closely after) the Sharps Model 1A Pistol. Post and groove sights, with "TIPPING & LAWDEN/SHARPS' PATENT" around the hammer screw on the left side of the frame, crossed scepter proofs on either side of the barrel group, and a fine silver finish on the frame. The hammer is checkered, and the grips are fine gutta percha with raised scroll designs. The case is hardwood construction, with a blue felt inner lining and a pair of lidded compartments.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% plus original blue finish, with some areas of brown and gray patina, along with some light handling marks. The frame has a mixed dark patina on the silver, which is mostly intact, and a few small areas of flaking, concentrated at the edges. The case is good, with some dents and scuffs. Mechanically fine.
