The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a rare 10 inch barrel, nickel finish and checkered black hard rubber grips when shipped on February 11, 1887, and delivered to S&W's largest distributor, M.W. Robinson of New York City. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder and barrel. Comes with a period metal shoulder stock. The aftermarket hardwood case holds both revolvers and an empty Winchester .32 S&W cartridge box and has a removable tray holding the shoulder stock.

Excellent, retaining 95% plus original nickel finish with scattered light flaking. There are dings on the grip straps. Some original case colors remain, and 85% thinned original blue finish remains on the trigger guard. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. A protective coating has been applied to the shoulder stock. The case is very good with a few cracks, replacement hinge screws and crazed finish.
