Manufactured in 1892 with highly desirable black powder frame and .44-40 chambering. The barrel is stamped with the one-line Hartford address on top and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" stamped marking on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by a circled Rampant Colt. The ejector rod has a crescent head. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun ("6648"). Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard and back strap.

Very fine. 75% plus bright original high polish blue finish remains with thinning to brown on the balance. The hammer and frame retain 80% original case colors. The grips are also very fine with a couple surface chips near the bottom (right panel) and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. This highly desirable black powder frame Frontier Six Shooter SAA Revolver would be hard to improve upon. It will make a great addition to any SAA collection!
