Manufactured from 1876 to the 1880s, these large frame single action revolvers were also known as the "Army Revolver." This early production example has an open top frame, scooped cylinder flutes, integral front sight and square butt with lanyard swivel. The revolver lacks a caliber marking (gauges at .44 Merwin). The barrel has the standard MH&Co. and Hopkins & Allen markings. The serial number "13934" is found on the butt, and the assembly number "3482" is found on the left side of the grip frame, right grip panel, rear cylinder face and barrel lug.

Excellent plus (appears unfired), retaining 98% plus original nickel finish showing limited high edge wear and scattered dings. 90% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. Most of the original nitre blue remains on the trigger. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling evidence and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A superb and desirable early production MH&Co. Large Frame Single Action Revolver that will be hard to improve upon.
