Description:

Manufactured in the early 20th Century by one of the most desirable Western spur makers, Kelly Bros. The company was started by P.M. Kelly, who made his first pair of spurs in 1903. The pair are marked "KELLY/BROS" near the lateral buttons (obscured on one of the spurs). The upturned heel bands are single nickel mounted with lightly engraved designs and feature straight ornate shanks ending in toothed rowels. Attached to the medial buttons are partial leather straps with a buckle. Provenance: Joe Flores. Heel band width: 5/8" Shanks: 2 1/8" Rowel diameter: 1 3/4" Heel opening: 2 5/8".

Rating Definition:

Good, showing a mostly brown patina and mostly bright nickel mountings with moderate pitting throughout and moderate wear consistent with use.
