Manufactured circa 1912. Features blued, chopper lump barrels with doll's head extension and marked "JOSEPH LANG & SON. 102 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON" and ".450/.400 3 1/4" CASE. 60 GRS CORDITE 400 GRAIN BULLET." on the right and left barrels respectively between the breech and rear sight. Ramped beaded blade with flip up moon bead front and three-leaf (one standing, two folding) rear express sights, and London nitro proof marks and marked "CORDITE 60-400 MAX" on the flats. Casehardened receiver and highly unusual key detachable locks with full coverage floral and scroll engraving, "JOSEPH LANG & SON" maker's marks on the locks, gold inlaid cocking indicators, removable firing pin discs, dual triggers, and sliding automatic tang safety with secondary safety lock and gold inlaid "SAFE". Multi-point checkered walnut forearm with engraved fittings, Anson push button lock, pistol grip stock with tear drop flats, engraved, casehardened grip cap, raised cheekpiece, gold initial oval inscribed "R.D.", and solid rubber recoil pad. With brass cornered, leather and oak takedown case with reproduction Grant & Lang trade label and two London pattern turnscrews, cleaning rod, snap caps, and side lock key. Length of pull is 14 inches. Weight: 10 Lbs. 7 Oz.

Very fine. The barrels have 95% original blue finish with sharp markings, light spotting on the quarter rib, and small scratches and handling marks. The receiver and locks have 90% original dark case colors with some minor edge wear. The wood is fine as refinished with freshened checkering and small scattered dings throughout. Mechanically excellent. Case is fair with detached carry handle, scuffs and scratches overall, and some staining.
