This consecutively numbered pair was manufactured in 1958 with standard markings and features. According to "The Post-War Colt Single Action Revolver 1955-1975" by Wilkerson, .44 Special is by far the rarest caliber of the post-war Colts, with only 2,075 chambered in it over ten years. Wilkerson also identifies only 16 consecutively numbered pairs in this configuration were manufactured, making them exceedingly rare. These two also have consecutive assembly numbers "908" and "909", and the grips are partially numbered to each. Includes the original black Colt box for each revolver and a shipping box with Colt shipping label and hand marked "1 pair consecutive/44/5 1/2".

Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original blue and casehardened finishes with a few light handling marks, traces of cylinder drag lines, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is near excellent with very minimal handling evidence, and two split lid corners and the shipping box is very good with some handling/storage wear.
