This is an early example of a standard M1 Garand rifle that was manufactured by the International Harvester Corp. It has the standard, four line block type markings on the receiver heel, that consist of: "U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30 M1/INTERNATIONAL/HARVESTER/4440834". The right side of the receiver is marked "B 42 A/IHC D6528291-43" and the barrel is marked "P LMR D6535448 12-52 A5 P M". The various parts are marked as follows; trigger housing "IHC D6528290", trigger guard stamped unmarked, hammer "IHC C5546008", bolt "D6528287 IHC/U", operating rod "D-6535382 IHC". It has a early "IHC" marked rear sight set with an "IHC" marked gas plug. It is fitted with an all walnut stock and handguard set that has a very faint ordnance wheel on the left side with no other proofs or markings.

Very fine condition with 90% of the arsenal gray/green parkerized finish overall with edge and high spot wear and finish loss on the right side receiver rail, top of the bolt, front exposed area of the barrel and the buttplate. Additionally the middle barrel band and stock ferrule have been polished to bare metal on the sides. The lightly sanded, reoiled stock and handguard are in fine condition with a medium brown color overall showing only minor handling marks.
