Manufactured in 1920. Fixed blade and notch sights, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking on underside of barrel, standard address and caliber markings, "eagle head/7" inspection mark on top left of frame, and model/Army property number stamp on the butt. Included with the revolver are 24 rounds of Remington-UMC ammunition, pre-loaded in half-moon clips and packed in an opened Remington box, two loose and empty half-moon clips, a brown leather flap holster and an identity card for an American Expeditionary Forces officer. Both the holster and card are marked to a Captain Adolph Staylor Tillman of the 108th Supply Train. The 108th was a component of the 33rd Infantry Division, a National Guard unit from Illinois deployed to France in 1918, seeing action at Meuse-Argonne, the Somme, and St. Mihiel, as well as a detachment of the unit participating in the Battle of Hamel, a very early engagement for the AEF alongside British and Australian troops. In support of these operations, the 108th would haul ammunition, food, and other needed supplies by truck up to the lines, typically working at night to reduce the chances of aerial or artillery bombardment.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks, edge wear, and a small amount of spotting. The grips are fine, with chipping and dents on the butt, and three grooves cut into the left panel. The paper goods show wear appropriate to age, and the holster is about good, with scuffs, cracks, stains and popped rivets. Mechanically excellent.
