This is an mid-WWII U.S. Army Model 1911A1 pistol that was manufactured by Colt Firearms in 1944. The slide has the standard two-block, two-line patent and address markings with the Rampant Colt in the middle. The left side of the frame is stamped with the standard U.S. Army inspectors initials "G.H.D." with a single "P" proof below the magazine release. The right side of the receiver is stamped, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/No 1632431" and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". It has the WWII style checkered slide stop thumb safety, wide spur hammer, arched mainspring housing, and the blue barrel is stamped "COLT 45 AUTO" on the lower left side with a single "P" proof on the left side of the barrel lug. It has the standard checkered plastic grips with wide reinforcing rings, strengthening rib, and mold numbers. The slide is correctly unnumbered and has a single "P" proof in front of the rear sight. The feed ramp has a repolished face. This pistol is furnished with one WWII blue magazine marked "L" on the lip.

Very fine overall, retains 80% of the original parkerized finish with edge and high spot wear and finish loss on the front ends of the slide and front frame extension. The grips are also very fine with nice checkering on both sides and minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
