This is a excellent example of a Krieghoff "P" code Series I commercial contract Luger. These Lugers, although produced in the "P" code serial number range, are considered as a unique group of Lugers all in themselves with only approximately 200 produced in total. They have the standard "HK/Anchor" over "Krieghoff/Suhl" marked front toggle with no side-frame inscription. The full serial number "P1131" is stamped on the front of the frame and the left side of the barrel extension, and the various smaller parts stamped with the last two digits (31) of the serial number along with the "Eagle/2" proofmark on some of the parts. The right side of the barrel extension has the correct five-pointed rejection star proof. The left side of the barrel extension, frame rail and breechblock are all proofed with the early Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof. Frame rail, barrel extension. It is fitted with a set of the unmarked early Mauser type brown checkered plastic grips that have a single mold mark and screw hole on the backside. The pistol is complete with one nickel plated unmarked magazine with an aluminum base numbered "1131" on the bottom. These Lugers are described in detail on page 220 of the Randall Gibson's reference book on Krieghoff Lugers. This serial number "P1131" falls right in line with the others also listed in that reference book.

Excellent with 98% of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the front frame rails and stock lug area. The various smaller parts retain 97% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice, distinct checkering overall with minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. It has all matching numbers including on the magazine as noted.
