Description:

The lock has an untranslated makers mark in gold in what appears to be Cyrillic or a similar script suggesting Russian origin. A gold "1" is inlaid on the upper tang indicating it was part of a pair/set. Dual gold bands are on the breech plug. The barrel has micro-groove style rifling, evidence of a prior fixed front sight, and is made from Damascus steel. The upper tang is also engraved and has a fixed notch rear sight. The lock and other furniture have French influenced scrollwork and floral patterns. It has sculpted hammer in the shape of a fish, and the trigger guard also has a fish shaped spur and encloses an adjustable single set trigger. The stock has raised relief floral carving at the breech and butt, fine checkering with scalloped borders, and a small cap box on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Good with mottled gray and brown patina, mild pitting, absent front sight, strong original gold, minor crack at the tail of the lock, faint tension crack at the left flat, mild scratches and dings, partially smoothed checkering, distinct carving and engraving patterns, a small hole in the back of the grip, and moderate overall wear. Mechanically fine.
