Description:

This is a beautiful example of a superb custom made full size DWM Model 1906 Luger pistol in .45 ACP. As we all know back in the 1904/05 time frame the U.S. Ordnance Dept issued a draft requirement for a new "45 ACP" handgun, open to all competitors who could submit a test sample. The DWM factory actually produced 2 full size Luger test samples serial number 1 and 2, and that’s all. Supposedly the first pistol was consumed in Army testing with the second pistol actually surviving and still being held in private hands today. This beautiful example is a faithful recreation of that original "full size" Model 1906 Luger pistol chambered in .45 ACP. It was manufactured by Krause Werkes in California. It is a "monster" of a pistol being full sized in .45 ACP. It only carries a single serial number "4" on the front of the frame with no other numbers or proof marks. It is complete with one original magazine with the wooden base. These were written up in the March 1998 issue of Guns and Ammo.

Rating Definition:

Excellent like new condition with 99% of its original blue finish overall. The walnut grips are also in excellent condition with nice sharp distinct checkering on both sides. Overall it appears to be totally unfired. Just a beautiful and very desirable, faithful copy of the original DWM Model 1906 .45 ACP Luger pistol. If you can't attain the real one, this is the next best thing!
