Description:

Blade front and two-position adjustable rear sights, with the "crown" and "crown/M"(x2) stamps on the left side of the undated chamber, the "DWM" toggle marking, and (replacement refinished magazine) matching numbers. Straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and springs, checkered grips, and a blued magazine with a plain hardwood base. A grip safety has been removed, and the back strap is stamped "W.K./9916/b" just above the stock lug, indicating that the pistol passed through the Kaiserliche Marine post at Kiel. A scarce modified Navy pattern brown leather flap holster, marked "L.Z.A./J.Karlsruhe" on the back, is included with pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% plus original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, bright edge wear, and minor scratches and spotting overall. 40% of the bright original straw color are present mostly in the protected areas, with much of the surface of the small parts turned a mixed gray. The grips are very good, with some small cracks in the top of the left panel, mild dings and flat spots. The holster is fine as altered with tool compartment removed on interior flap and cleaning rod on body, with some scuffs and stains. Mechanically very good.
