Manufactured in 1949 with standard markings and a Herter's adjustable choke attached to the barrel. Considering the serial number placement of this example within the full production of the Model 12, it is possible that this shotgun was retained by the factory as a means of testing a Model 12 with the Herter's compensated choke attached or simply as a form of physical record keeping. There is a factory metal tag on the buttstock marked "W 749". It has a 2 3/4 inch chamber, adjustable choke, and 14 inch length of pull. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the shotgun by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Very fine, retains 97% original blue finish with some scattered light handling marks and scratches. The wood is very good with some minor handling marks, a hairline crack in the forearm, and a large chip missing near the toe of the buttstock. Still with factory grease. Mechanically excellent.
