This rifle appears to be a late prototype model, perhaps one of the last before commercial production. It shows most of the standard features of the final model which was released to the public, however, it is only marked with the serial number, rough caliber marking, and "WP" proof on the barrel. This may have been a prototype to test the scope mounts as they appear more roughly finished, some finish on the receiver has been removed under them, and there are two extra tapped holes near the front mount. There is a U.S. Repeating Arms product development tag tied to the lever listing the serial number as "AE10005". The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the rifle by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original blue finish (excluding the small area on the receiver intentionally removed for testing) with minimal minor dings on the stock and crisp checkering. Still with factory grease. Mechanically excellent.
