This carbine appears to have many similar features to the Model 9422 carbines that were later released to the public, however, it bears the unique, previously unreleased serial number "DVT2M". The model designation of "2522" appears to have only been used in the development phase and may have been changed to "9422" upon public release (There is a factory tag marked "New Lower/Extractor Sp./7-7-71" and what appears to be the initials "a.h.l"). The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent, retains 98% plus original blue finish with a series of scratches on top of the receiver and some cycling wear. The wood is very fine with some minor scratches and dings, and retaining most of the finish. Still with factory grease. Mechanically excellent.
