This carbine is a factory prototype that appears to be testing the feasibility of chambering a Model 94 in .454 Casull. The sightless "WP" proofed barrel is crudely marked "454CASUL" and is approximately 2 7/8 inches shorter than the magazine. The receiver is only marked with the factory experimental serial number "XCAS01", is tapped for scope mounts, and has the "cross-bolt" safety. There is an "Arms Research & Test Laboratory" tag stating the model, caliber, prototype status, and that it is "FOR DUMMY CYCLING ONLY!". The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent overall as factory experimentally assembled, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks. Still with factory grease. Mechanically excellent.
