Description:

These spurs are marked "K&C" on the lateral arms of the heel bands near the buttons. This mark is often attributed to a very short-lived partnership between the famous spur makers P.M. Kelly and Oscar Crockett in the 1920s, or alternatively, another way in which Kelly marked his spurs, with "K&C" representing "Kelly & Co." The upturned heel bands are single mounted with lightly engraved nickel diamonds inlaid with pearl disks. The gal-leg shanks are also lightly engraved and nickel mounted with spoked 7-point star rowels. The lateral buttons near the "K&C" marks also have inlaid pearl disks. Provenance: Joe Flores Collection. Heel band width: 1" Shanks: 2 7/8" Rowel diameter: 2 1/2" Heel opening: 3 1/4".

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing a mostly mottled grey patina with bright nickel mountings, some minor-moderate handling marks and wear consistent with use, and some cracking in a couple of the pearl disks.
