Casehardened box lock with false side plates featuring extensive scroll engraving, signed "COGSWELL & HARRISON Ltd," double triggers, engraved trigger guard, and tang safety with "SAFE" in gold. Highly figured straight grip stock with multi-point checkering, engraved forearm hardware, blank gold initial oval, added illegible stamps on the underside ("A"), and extend buttstock with 1 inch thick serrated walnut buttplate. Comes with an oak and leather case with "F" on the outside, Cogswell & Harrison paper trade label on the inside, two pairs of Rigby snap caps, and two-piece cleaning rod with brush attachment. Fine. The barrels retain 97% refinished blue with some wear at muzzles and breech. The receiver retains some blue in and around the protected areas, and the false side plates have been polished. The engraving is crisp. The wood is fine as altered (see above) with numerous minor dings and scratches and some wear in the checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is fair with broken handle and straps, numerous minor-moderate storage/handling marks and wear. Most of the label remains.
