Manufactured in 1908. Blued Westley Richards steel dovetailed barrels marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co./LONDON" on the right and left respectively with dual white bead sights on the matte solid rib with doll's head rib extension, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, full/full chokes, and Birmingham nitro proofs on the flats. Casehardened scalloped hand detachable droplock action with full coverage fine floral and scroll engraving, matching numbered, brilliantly jewelled lock components, "WESTLEY RICHARDS/PATENT ONE TRIGGER" marking on top of the receiver ahead of the break lever, single selective trigger, and manual sliding tang safety. Attractively figured, fancy checkered splinter forearm with Deeley latch, and Prince of Wales grip stock with blank silver initial oval, and leather wrapped recoil pad. With an oak an Abercrombie & Fitch leather takedown case with "LMP" on the exterior plaque and "Westley Richards Double/Louis M. Plansoen/Montclair NJ" roughly scratched in the leather. Case contains a pair of snap caps and keys. Bore and stock measurements (R/L): chambers proved and measured at 1 1/4 oz.(2 3/4 inches); bores 9 inches from the breech proved at "12" and measuring at .739/.740; chokes measured .046/.046; minimum wall thickness .028/.032; drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches; cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.

Very fine. 98% original blue finish remains on the barrels with some very slight muzzle wear and handling marks. The receiver has 95% original case colors remaining with some edge wear on the fences and crisp engraving. The refinished wood is also very fine with a hairline crack on the left side of the forearm, sharp freshened checkering, and some small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent. Case is about good with numerous scuffs and dings throughout, interior staining, and an aged patina on the brass fittings.
