Blue chopper lump barrels marked simply "FLLI PIOTTI" in gold inlay on the left side with a matte, elevated solid rib, single brass bead sight, marked "WOODCOCK HILL BENTON PA" on the bottom rib under the forearm, 3 inch chambers (marked "76") with automatic ejectors, improved modified/full chokes, and Italian nitro proof marks on the flats dated to 1985. Bright coin finished side lock action with non-detachable locks, bushed firing pins with locking screws, single non-selective trigger, sliding manual tang safety, and toplever with gold inlaid crown. The receiver and locks feature full coverage, finely detailed English bouquet and scroll engraving with polished pins, engraved maker's mark on the underside, matching engraved rolled trigger guard. The trigger plate is signed "ZACCHI" just ahead of the guard. Nicely figured, finely checkered beavertail forearm with Anson style push button latch, engraved fittings, gold inlaid Piotti crest, and straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt. With leather bound takedown case with three rosewood handled screwdrivers. Excellent. 98% original blue finish remains with some very light muzzle wear and forearm marks. The receiver and locks have crisp, detailed engraving and a few light handling marks. The wood is also excellent with crisp, well-defined checkering, attractive color and figure, and some small storage dings around the butt edge. Mechanically excellent and showing little sign of use. Case is good with scuffs and storage marks on the exterior, and visible wear on the interior lining.
