Manufactured in 1975/76 and embellished by Master Engraver Bryson Gwinnell who has signed his work on the front of the frame. About 70% of the surface features a relief floral scroll engraving with the addition of a gold inlaid muzzle band and raised gold inlaid female nudes on the sides of the frame. The S&W barrel markings are inside engraved banners. The hammer and trigger are casehardened, the cylinder flutes, latch and pin are blue, the top of the rib and top strap are matte black, and the remaining surfaces are bright. Comes with a S&W wood case. Consignor research related to B. Gwinnell is included. Multi-Howard Dove award winner Gwinnell worked as an engraver for Smith & Wesson, Colt, and United States Mint before he began to work free lance for private collectors and gun makers including Parker and Winchester.

Very fine as embellished by noted Master Engraver Bryson Gwinnell. The bright surfaces show limited discoloration and a cylinder drag line. Nearly all of the finishes remain. The grips are excellent showing limited handling evidence and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent showing minimal handling/storage marks and high spot wear on the lining.
