Description:

This gun will factory letter as shipped on June 21, 1973, and delivered to GT Distributors, Rossville, GA as part of a 30 gun order to the Chattanooga, Tennessee, Police Department. According to the consignor, the owner of GT Distributors, William J. "Bill" Orr, had this revolver engraved specially for then Chattanooga Chief of Police Jerry Pitts who served as chief from 1971 to 1976 when he was elected sheriff of Hamilton County (Chattanooga). The left side of the grip frame has a September 1974 ("9 74") factory return date for the engraving. The near full coverage A+ factory deluxe engraving consists of floral scrollwork on a punch dot background and additional floral motifs. The frame is signed "T.F." (Tom Freyburger) under the cylinder latch. Fitted with smooth S&W presentation target grips. Comes with the original numbered box, S&W papers and tools and deluxe hardwood presentation case.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall showing limited handling evidence only. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine. The case is excellent with very minimal handling/storage marks.
