Manufactured from 1915 to 1937, this fabulous example of the .44 Hand Ejector 2nd Model features a scarce 5 inch barrel. The standard barrel length for this model was 6 1/2 inches. It has standard S&W markings, fixed sights, bright blue finish, matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel and right grip panel, and assembly number "4815" on the frame and crane. The original factory box is numbered to the gun and has the correct green end label listing the barrel length as 5 inches. Provenance: Ray Cheely Collection, Chad Gripp Collection.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains well over 99% original bright blue finish showing a light cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are near new with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is excellent showing little wear. An outstanding example of the S&W 2nd Model .44 Hand Ejector revolver with a scarce barrel length.
