This is a rare example of a 1941 production Krieghoff Luger P.08 pistol manufactured in a limited quantity for the Luftwaffe (approximately 4,500). The pistol has the distinctive Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored small parts. The chamber is dated "1941" and the toggle link has the Krieghoff trademark and "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL". The right side of the receiver has the original Luftwaffe proof next to an early Stage II and Mid-Stage II Test Proof. The barrel underside has the Luftwaffe proof/bore diameter/Luftwaffe Stage II proof over the serial number. The breechblock and toggle both have the Luftwaffe early stage II parts proof. The full serial number is located on the front of the frame, barrel underside and left receiver side. The last two digits of the serial number "57" are visible on the inside of the side plate, inside of the lock bolt, trigger, safety latch, thumb safety lever, breechblock, connecting pin and both toggle links. The underside of both toggle links were first factory numbered "19" then restamped "57" over them. Both sets of numbers (19 and 57) are in the full factory serial number, clearly indicating a "factory correction". Fitted with original black checkered grips with matching numbered magazine featuring blue body and pinned aluminum base marked with Luftwaffe "Eagle/2" proof over "11957". The side of the body is marked "122" over an "eagle/37" proofmark.

Very fine. 97% original blue finish with the left frame and grip straps refinished along with high spot wear. The various smaller parts retain 60% of the thinning straw colors. The grips are in excellent condition. A rare and desirable 1941 dated Krieghoff Luger P.08 pistol!
