The accompanying Colt factory letter confirms that this Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative Single Action Revolver was produced by the Colt Custom Shop for Gary W. French, president of the Colt Company from 1981 to 1989. The unique serial number incorporates Mr. French's initials, followed by "PE" signifying President's Edition. The letter also confirms the caliber, barrel length, slanted Hartford address marking on top of the barrel, three line patent marking on the left side of the frame, royal blue finish with casehardened blackpowder frame, monogram "TR" auroplated in gold on top of the back strap, and smooth grip. The letter states that the 4 1/4" wedge of scrollwork on the barrel and the scrollwork on the cylinder flats with a band engraving on the rear of the cylinder is a Class B engraving. Blade front and frame groove sights with donut shaped ejector rod head. Left side of trigger guard has the Colt triangle proof and the letter "K". Complete with a maroon Colt "Heritage of Craftsmanship" box with Custom Shop end label numbered to the gun.

Excellent condition plus overall. The revolver retains over 99% of the respective finishes with only the slightest handling marks and some spotting on the frame. The grip has a few hairline age cracks on the left side. The box is good with a few minor tears and tape repairs.
