Produced by Colt and retained by the factory archive, this revolver is a Detective Special with several modifications aimed to increase the weight, presumably to improve the close quarters handling of the weapon and dampen felt recoil. The most obvious change is the thickened top strap, .56" wide and .4" thick. Markings are standard, with a pair of checkered wraparound grips. Includes a Colt factory letter.

Excellent, with 98% plus original blue finish, with some light handling marks and spotting. Grips are very fine, with some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
