Manufactured from 1973 to 1986. Features fixed ramp front and frame notch rear sight on a slightly raised solid rib, six-shot fluted cylinder, shrouded ejector rod housing, serrated hammer, smooth trigger and wraparound checkered walnut grips. The right side of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two line address, with the left side being marked, "DETECTIVE SPEC./.38 SPECIAL CTG.". The factory letter states the guns provenance as, "...a sample and display revolver kept by the Colt factory". Complete with Colt wood grain box numbered to gun, orange plastic cylinder safety disk and original factory letter.

Near new in box, 99% original finish, with the grips being similarly conditioned. The wood grain box is in good condition with the proper end label having been scotch taped into place.
