The letter further states the revolver was the first of the new model and kept by the Colt archives for use by the custom shop, engineering, and historical departments for reference purposes and that the revolver was the first of the new model to be processed through production. Excellent overall 98% original finish remains with light handling marks, and sharp checkering on the grips. Mechanically excellent. Box is good with corner and edge wear and some small tears.
