Manufactured in 1898 with standard markings. Early casehardened frame, blade front and fixed notch rear sights, and twelve groove forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. Includes a transport/storage crate that is marked on the lid, "C. Heidthson/Fairmount. Ave. & Amity. St./Jersey City NJ".

Fine overall, retains 75% plus original blue finish on the barrel and magazine and 40% original case colors with the balance a smooth grey patina and a light speckling of oxidation on most of the barrel and magazine tube. The exceptionally fine wood has a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The crate has moderate wear throughout consistent with use.
