This Winchester Deluxe Model 1890 slide action rifle was manufactured in 1909 and chambered for the .22 WRF cartridge. The rifle has a dovetail front sight and an adjustable notch rear sight with the 1901 patent date. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two line address/patent date marking followed by "MOD. 1890", with "22 W.R.F." stamped on the upper left flat. Single factory proofs appear on the barrel and receiver. The front of the receiver is stamped "94 WRF". The upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK", with the serial number on the lower tang and frame. It has a twelve groove forearm and a fancy walnut checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber factory grip cap and a crescent buttplate. The left side of the lower tang is marked "5558X". The assembly number "5558" is repeated on the butt of the stock and buttplate. Compared to total production deluxe variations of the Model 1890 are seldom encountered.

Very good. The barrel and magazine retain 75% thinning original blue finish with slide wear. The receiver retains 80% bright original blue finish with minor edge wear, a patch of brown patina (underside), and some minor thinning. The trigger guard retains traces of blue with the balance between a smooth brown and gray patina. The tangs and buttplate have a smooth gray patina. Overall there are some minor scratches and limited minor pitting. The forearm is excellent with a few minor handling marks. The buttstock is fine with numerous minor dings and scratches. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
