Description:

Meriden Fire Arms Co. was only active in 1905 to 1918 and were a subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck & Co. The Model 15 was the company's only slide action rifle and was first offered in the fall of 1912 by Sears. They are based on a patent by Basil Savage, son of the founder of Savage Arms Co., and was also later used by Mossberg. It has a beaded blade front sight, notch rear sight, the two-line address and patent marking on top of the barrel, the caliber designation on the left at the breech, "MERIDEN/MODEL 15" and a thumb safety on the upper tang, checkered stock and forearm, and scroll engraving surrounding small vignettes of squirrels (right) and rabbits (left).

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 50% plus original blue finish, smooth gray and brown patina of the balance, crisp engraving and markings, mild scratches and dings, a few scrapes in the otherwise crisp checkering, and mild overall wear. Mechanically fine.
