It comes in a hardwood case fitted to the gun and also containing a double sided eagle pocket powder flask with short spout and several lead balls. The case has a label on the lid and base at the rear that has various markings including "COLTS PISTOLS ENGRAVED IVORY HANDLE" at the top and "LG Schuessler Columbus Ga." on the bottom right. Lieutenant L.G. Schuessler was a Confederate soldier in Columbus 1st City Battalion and died in 1917. Provenance: formerly part of the Norm Flayderman Collection.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 85% plus of the original blue finishes remaining. Most of the loss is due to flaking on the cylinder. The blue finish on the barrel and the vivid case colors remain 95% intact. The silver plating has a natural aged patina. There are some general minor scratches and marks and light edge wear throughout. The grip has essentially all of the original varnish and minimal handling and storage wear. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine and has moderate storage wear including cracked dividers and light scratches. Overall an interesting set centered on a very fine Model 1849 Pocket.
