Manufactured in 1897. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and patent dates between the blade front and folding ladder rear sights, and the left side of the barrel is marked "44 Cal." The Rampant Colt trademark and the saddle ring and stud are on the left side of the frame. It has a smooth bordered forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate.

Very good, retains 30% original blue finish thinning to a grey-brown patina. The wood is good with minor to moderate dings and scratches throughout, a repaired hairline crack in the forearm, and a small repair in the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
