Description:

Approximately 900-925 Flat Top Target Model revolvers were manufactured in 22 different calibers between 1888-1896, with this one manufactured in 1894 and one of only 24 chambered in .32 Colt. Originally being developed with target shooters in mind, they are known for their top quality fit and finish, and therefore are highly regarded and sought after by collectors. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", the left side "32 COLT.", and the two-line, three-patent dates on the lower left side of the frame. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "6". Pinned blade front sight and standard dovetailed rear "U" notch target sight. Adding to its rarity, this example shows a full nickel finish and hard rubber grips with Rampant Colts that are each faintly hand numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished, retains 75% original nickel finish on all but the cylinder, which retains a similar amount of refinished nickel with the balance some scattered minor flaking, frosting, and grey patina. The grips are fine as faded to an attractive dark chocolate brown showing mild wear and some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
