Manufactured in 1898. The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .44 caliber, blue finish and hard rubber stocks when shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co., Chicago, Illinois, on February 12, 1898. Standard Colt markings including "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" stamped on the left side of the barrel. The grip frame and loading gate have matching assembly number "228."

Exceptionally fine, retaining 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grips are excellent with limited handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
