The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proofmark and the number "3". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the grip straps under the grip. The matching last two digits "63" of the serial number are stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. The assembly number "734" is marked on the loading gate. Casehardened frame and hammer, with blue on the remaining parts, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with smooth grips with silver Colt medallions. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, rubber grips at time of shipment and that it was shipped as a 1 gun shipment to Piper & Taft Seattle, Washington on January 30, 1928. The letter further states that the one gun special order number 14134/1 also included one pair of factory ivory stocks, which are now on this revolver!

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish with some muzzle wear, edge wear, drag line on the cylinder and slight thinning on the front lower grip strap. The frame retains 95% original case colors. The hammer retains 85% original case colors. The grips are excellent with a light patina on the right panel and an attractive grain. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent.
