Manufactured in 1961. With dual steel bead sights on the matte, second style "round post" vent rib, standard markings on the left side of the barrel, Winchester "WP" proofs at the breech (offset to the left to allow for the rib), 3 inch chamber, and full choke. There is a pigeon engraved on the underside of the magazine tube with small wedges of fine scroll on the barrel sides at the breech. The receiver is engraved in the style of the factory 42-5 pattern with a setter stalking quail on the right and a pair of pointers on the left flushing a pair of quail. With detailed backgrounds and fine scroll borders. The left side is signed "NK" along the lower edge, near the loading port. Nick Kusmit of course was a 30 year Master Engraver for the Winchester factory, as well as a prolific freelance engraver, best known for his continued work on Winchester firearms. The shell lifter and bolt carrier have been brilliantly engine turned. Fancy grade, diamond pattern checkered extension forearm and pistol grip stock with blue steel grip cap, and checkered Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Exceptionally fine in the factory 42-5 pattern by Master Engraver Nick Kusmit . 97% plus factory quality, high polish blue finish remains with some small scattered surface scratches and mild handling marks. The wood is also very fine with attractive grain and figure, sharp checkering, some small scattered dings, and some small blemishes around the upper receiver tang. Mechanically excellent.
