Introduced as a production line gun in 1931 and moved to the Custom Shop in 1960, the Model 21 was one of the company's finest efforts with regard to quality, reliability and strength; it was hand built for maximum performance and aesthetic qualities. This shotgun is a Skeet Grade manufactured from 1936 to 1959 and has subsequently been beautifully custom embellished and gold inlaid. The receiver, break lever, forearm latch hardware, grip cap and trigger guard are very nicely floral scroll engraved. The fences have an oak leaf design with a punch dot background. There is an oval panel on the left side of the receiver with a gold inlaid pheasant in a field scene, an oval panel on the right side with a gold inlaid grouse in a field scene and a round panel on the underside with three gold inlaid ducks in a marsh scene. The rear of the left barrel is marked "WINCHESTER - 12 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM." The underside of each barrel is marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" with "WS-2" on the left and "WS-1" on the right. The water table is marked with the three-line made in U.S.A., model and address on the left side and Winchester oval proof on the right side, and the barrel flats are marked with the Winchester oval proof. The matching serial number is on the upper tang, barrel flat and forearm hardware. Blue finish, red front and steel bead mid sights on a custom matte vent rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The top center of the barrels is marked "B/255" at the breech. Single trigger with gold selector, tang mounted manual safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with 3x fancy multi point checkered walnut beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a metal grip cap and checkered bare butt. Measurements - Choke: WS-1/WS-2, Chamber Length: 2 3/4 inches, Length of Pull: 14 inches, Drop at Comb: 1 5/8 inches, Drop at Heel: 2 1/4 inches, Cast: Neutral, Toe: Neutral, Overall Weight: 7 pounds 6 ounces.

Very good as custom refinished and embellished with 98% blue finish remaining showing some mild thinning on the left fence and overall a few light handling/storage marks. The wood shows some imperfections near the butt, light handling/storage marks and sharp checkering. All of the gold inlay remains. The engraving is crisp and the markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
