Manufactured in 1941, during the transition period that marked the end of high-polished blue for military finish and the start of parkerization and similar matte finishes. Blade front and square notch rear sights, with the two-line Colt address and Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide and the Service Model nomenclature on the right. The frame has a "R.S." inspector's mark on the left side, with "X/VP" and "60" on the trigger guard. Fitted with a checkered wide hammer, short milled trigger, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring, checkered grips, and a two-tone Service Model magazine. Removable collection mark on trigger guard.

Excellent, with 98% plus original blue finish, showing a number of tiny dings scattered around the ejector port and on the upper left side of the slide, minor spotting, and light edge wear and handling marks. The grips are fine, with some dings and dark spots. Mechanically excellent.
