Manufactured after World War II, this rifle bears an "X" serial number prefix, denoting an accidentally duplicated serial number. Many "X" rifles were produced at the tail end of M1 Garand production, essentially a "clean-up" phase before fully transitioning to making the M14 rifle. Blade front sight and "NM/595" rear sight with fixed peep, "NM BME" windage knob and "WC E" elevation knob. Fitted with a Line Machine "7 53" barrel, Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and relief-cut operating rod. The stock is glass bedded. It has "2699" marked in white in the operating rod channel and stamped on the right side of the buttstock, "P" and "eagle" stamps, and a checkered steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the parkerized finish, showing some mild handling marks and cycling wear overall. The gas cylinder shows 70% flaking black enamel finish. The stock is very good, with mild wear, dings and scuffs overall. The rear band is dented, and the surrounding wood shows some cracking and chipping. Mechanically excellent.
