Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun
Description:

Originally manufactured in the 1950s, both of these rifles were sold via the Civilian Marksmanship Program at auction in 2008 with appropriate certificates. Each also comes with a data sheet affirming them as CMP Collector Grade, note both as original, new/never issued, and describes them as having been found in sealed bags dated to 1954. Both still retain a foil vapor wrap around the front sight and a cardboard tube insert in the bore. Both are noted as having a full and proper roster of "HRA" components, with throat and muzzle erosion of 1 or less. The A rifle has a "9-54" dated HRA barrel, appropriate "DoD eagle" stamps on the barrel and stock, and a general uncleaned/unoiled appearance. Each rifle comes with an non-numbered shipping box, a canvas sling in paper wrapping, and a pair of unsealed anti-vapor bags dated to the middle of 1954. These rifles were "Greek returns" received by the Civilian Marksmanship Program as explained in the included Summer 2005 issue of "GCA Journal".

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, as issued, with 99% plus parkerized finish, showing a minimum of cycling and handling marks. The stock has a dry appearance but is otherwise in excellent plus shape. The box shows wear and tear appropriate to age and travel.

B) U.S. H&R M1 Garand Rifle

Manufacturer: Harrington & Richardson Inc
Model: M1 Garand
Type: Rifle
Gauge: 30-06
Barrel: 24 inch round

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, as issued, with 99% plus original finish, showing some light handling and cycling wear overall. The excellent plus stock shows a few dings and dents, along with some verdigris buildup on the mid band. Overall an excellent set of two nigh-pristine U.S. Harrington and Richardson M1 Garands.
