Description:

This is a very fine example of a 1920 production U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Mark I rifle with "S.A./flaming bomb/1-20" marked on the barrel, fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights with volley notch, "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/MARK I" over the serial number on the receiver, correct Mark I style straight grip stock with a recess below the ejection port for the Pedersen Device, full length handguard, butt trap with cleaning kit and oiler, tan canvas sling, and correct Mark I cut-off and disconnector in the sear. The only marking on the stock is a small "46" sub inspector stamp just behind the trigger guard. The only thing that would make this rifle more complete would be a Pedersen Device.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the original parkerized finish, areas of mild to moderate handling marks, mild edge wear, cycling marks on the bolt, clear markings, and some areas aging to a light brown patina. The wood is fine with light handling marks throughout and scattered small indentations. Mechanically excellent.
